Mark, this website is not mine.  It is Ellen's and as they say, the buck has to stop somewhere. If there is no webmaster, its not my fault. Now, I don't care to be called names and see my partner called names and have allegations made that are patently untrue and baseless. Someone be said we operate in secrecy? That's a laugh. Prior to the 2004 reunion, people complained that I was sending out too many updates.  You know....there is no pleasing everybody, so Sherry and I just do what we believe is the right thing to do and if that annoys you....so be it.   You cant please everyone.

Herb: Telling someone to apologize for what others write it nuts!! Who do you think you are to make such an outrageous demand? You're carrying on about some dumb reunion as if it were a life and death issue. Is there nothing else in your lives? Get over yourselves and let the rest of us use this book appropriately.

Ellen, please don't be angry with me for posting this, but I've read more that I can take - Madison reunions go on all over the country at different times and in different places. All organizers work hard. That's the nature of the task. But none of the others have gone about it in the manner that Herb and Sherry have with their secrecy and ad nauseum bragging. Those two plaster their boasts over and over. I suspect that's why people are pissed off. Humility goes a long way folks.

Hey Herb and the other old farts:

How disgusting of you to blame Ellen. Anyone who knows about the Internet, which you obviously don't, knows that there's no webmaster here. Ellen's been out there helping so many people find old friends, past loves and long lost relatives. She does that for all who need help, not just Madison grads. I bet she's helped people you know. Did any of you know that she helped a girl in Brooklyn find her half siblings in time to let them know that their mother was dying? She helped find several people for me. And none of us went to Madison. She's done all of this even though she and her husband have gone through hell over the years. Do any of you know that she lives with an incurable disease that has had her in and out of hospitals? She's been near death more than once. Do any of you know that she continued to help people when she lost her health insurance and nearly lost her home? She kept on helping when her husband was out of work. She even helped others when he had a heart attack a few months ago. And she thanks us for keeping her busy!! So many owe her so much and you have the balls to attack her for what others write. You're disgusting!!!! And people say that my generation has no manners? Like she wrote, just ignore stuff --- mine included.  Just don't screw things up for everyone else.

  I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY SOME PEOPLE CHOOSE TO BE SO UGLY.  I AM REFERRING TO THE NASTY WORDS WRITTEN ABOUT MS. SHERRY MANDEL.  I ATTENDED THE REUNION IN LAS VEGAS, IT WAS WONDERFUL AND WELL DONE.  I LIVE IN VEGAS AND KNOW HOW DIFFICULT A TASK  IT IS TO PUT TOGETHER SUCH A LARGE AFFAIR. IT TAKES TIME ,MONEY AND MOST OF ALL HARD WORK.  I PRAISE THESE PEOPLE, SHERRY AND HERB, AS I HAVE NOTICED IN MY LIFETIME TO COMPLAIN IS EASY, NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE STEP UP TO THE PLATE. Herb, Bobbi. Mady et al: None of you followed the RED instruction at the top of the page about including your email address in the body of your post. Had you done so, I could have replied directly to each of you. But this is for ALL who come here: As I've posted countless times over the years, I do not own this book.  It's called a guestbook because it's not a full website.  So there's no webmaster. There's no editing. There's no censorship. This book happens to be a link to someone else's site.  And the actual owner does not monitor anything.   She did not go to Madison, but was kind enough to open this book for me in 1998 so that I could my classmates reunite. I opened it to everyone when I realized that there was no one else doing that, let alone free of charge. To date, I've helped over 10,000 people, many of whom not only didn't go to Madison, but never even lived in Brooklyn.  And I've often gone out of pocket to do just that. I've done all of that to help others, but also to help myself as I've been seriously ill for years. It's been my "therapy." Don't attack and abuse me. That only proves the adage that no good deed goes unpunished. So if you don't like what others post, just ignore their messages. By replying, you might actually "fuel the fire." Reunions are happy occasions. Don't let others spoil your enjoyment.

I am truly amazed that I find myself answering the vitriole posted on this website by people who say they are former Madisonians. They point their barbed comments at Sherry Gordon and in so doing, they aim at me too since Sherry and I work together and have been doing so for well over two years now. As a team, we put together one hell of a reunion in Las Vegas last year that people still comment on favorably and ask when we are doing it again.  Well, we are doing it again and we hope to either equal what we did last year or surpass it. And we will despite the comments of a few people who have no clue what is involved. Putting together a massive "all years" reunion is a lot more than just arranging a dinner somewhere. Sherry worked constantly, (while working fulltime at a regular job). She traveled back and forth to Vegas to negotiate not just with one hotel but with several until she got the rates, conditions, facilities, etc that would make our reunion shine. I wonder how many of you would do that and I wonder how many man hours have been and are being put into the other reunions. For Sherry and I, planning those reunions was like a fulltime job. Now, to be specific......first, a comment. To the person who signed his name OFF TO WAR.....why didn't you have the intestinal fortitude to sign your name, although from the content of your message, I have a good idea who you are.   

Yes, we have asked for names ahead of time before we even announced where, when and how much. Now, one of the comments indicated the writer thought there was something sinister going on. We did the same in 2003 and 4,  nothing shady took place and nobody got bent out of shape.  I had already noted in one of my updates back then that I wanted addresses and phone numbers ahead of time, in case my computer crashed and I had to revert to the telephone or snail mail. OOOOOOHHHH, very subversive. Now, we were also asking for people to sign on....to get an idea of how many would be interested in attending because the folks that run the  Hotels need to know how much food and drink to buy, how many rooms to set aside, etc. 

Right now, Sherry is preparing for another trip to negotiate a good price for the next reunion. That's so you all can have an equally good time without having to mortgage your home to attend. And we are NOT going to commit ourselves to any hotel until the conditions are just right.  We do not name any hotel because we have not yet chosen one, and there has been no price announced and no request that anybody commit to coming at this point. And for those who think we spend our days and night patting ourselves on the back and bragging about the 2004 reunion, you are totally mistaken although we have every right to be proud. It was a major undertaking by only two people,  a major production that took two years to arrange, and by God, we did one hell of a job. And we will do it again. We invite you to join us but if you don't, that's cool too.  And to Ellen Grove, I believe you owe Sherry an apology as do the others, for the insulting messages they posted and that you allowed to be posted.

 I ATTENDED THE LAS VEGAS REUNION, IT WAS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT. PUT TOGETHER WITH MUCH LOVE & HARD WORK. As it now stands, there will be three large Madison reunions next year: Two will be for all classes. The other will cover 1955, 1956 and 1957. Each event is being coordinated by separate committees. The all-years weekend in the Catskills will begin on June 2nd.  Full details are in ENTRY#176 of this book. No specifics for what will probably be somewhere in the west have been reported as of this date. IGNORE ENTRY 194!!  My parents went to the Vegas event that Ms. Mandel continually brags about and they hated it, as did others who were in attendance. They said that it was a rip off with people who didn't pay able to mingle with those who had. It was not a very small event with Ms. Mandel and her cohort acting as if they were royalty. How obnoxious!! No special travel arrangements were offered. The food was pedestrian for what it cost.

Demanding that people furnish their personal contact info long before disclosing any event details is  unprofessional and creepy.  What are they hiding?
